A judge of the High Court of Justice, Family Division since 1993. Educated King Edward's School, Birmingham; Selwyn College, Cambridge. Called to the Bar, Inner Temple, 1967. Bencher 1993. QC 1987. Recorder 1987-93. NE Circuit Liaison Judge 1993-. Chairman Family Law Bar Association 1990-92. Member, Matrimonial Causes Rule Committee 1981-85. Senate of Inns of Court and Bar 1983-6; Law Society Legal Aid Committee 1984-89; General Council of the Bar 1990-92. Vice-President, European Chapter, International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers 1992-93. Works in Court 32, Royal Courts of Justice.
