Sir James Matthew Stronge, 2nd Baronet (6 April 1786-), he succeeded his father as baronet at the age of eighteen years old.

Sir James graduated as a Doctor of Civil Law (DCL), and was made Deputy Lieutenant for County Armagh and County Tyrone. He also served as Gentleman of the Privy Chamber and oversaw a extension of his family seat Tynan Abbey.

Sir James married, on 5 September 1810, Isabella Calvert, the eldest daughter of Nicholas Calvert M.P., of Hunsdon House, Hampshire, and his wife The Hon. Frances Pery, daughter of Edmond Sexton Pery, Viscount Pery (a Speaker of the Irish House of Commons). They had issue:
