SiRF is a brand of microcontroller designed to be used with GPS systems, which has its own programming language.
SiRFstar III architecture is designed to be useful in wireless and handheld LBS applications, for 2G, 2.5G, 3G asynchronous networks.
The SiRFstarIII family is comprised of the GRF3w RF IC, the GSP3f digital section, and the GSW3 software that is API compatible with GSW2 and SiRFLoc.
SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. develops and markets semiconductor and software products that are designed to enable location-awareness utilizing GPS and other location technologies, enhanced by wireless connectivity capabilities such as Bluetooth, for high-volume mobile consumer devices and commercial applications.
