The Sioux City Explorers are an independent minor league baseball team in the American Association. Based in Sioux City, Iowa, the Explorers are not affiliated with any Major League Baseball team. They play their home games at Lewis and Clark Park. The club was founded in 1996 by Diamond Sports executives Bill and Cord Pereira. Diamond Sports operated the team until 2000.
