Sinner is a German band, better known by the name Mat Sinner (vocalist & bassist of the band) and was published by Nuclear Blast America, now via MTM Music. The band became the biggest Melodic Heavy Metal band in the 80s after the releasing of the albums Touch of Sin and Comin’ Out Fighting. The band released what many consider their best album of the 90s known as The Nature Of Evil (1998), with chart success in Germany (Pos. 63). Shortly afterward the album Sinner The Second Decade (1999) was released as Sinner's Greatest Hits of the 90s. In 2001 the album End Of Sanctuary was released and charted in Germany on Pos. 87. Their newest album There Will Be Execution (2004) was released and was treated as their most raw rocking album. The band will most likely be remembered by their siganture albums of the 80s, but will comeback with a new album in January 2007 with a brandnew album Mask Of Sanity featuring songs of Mat Sinner, Tom Naumann, Roy Z. and Ronny Milianowicz!

[edit] History

Sinner has gone on and off, even with Mat Sinner not always giving his full attention to the band or working on other projects the band is still active. The band had a decade of inactivity after their hit third album Comin’ Out Fighting, going on tour from 1986 to 1989 and then going on hiatus. Most Sinner fans for that reason left and the band came back with their classic release of Judgement Day (1997), floowed by their most successful album The Nature Of Evil.

Mat Sinner decided to form a new band, with a fresh new name and a fresh new batch of songs. The band is named Primal Fear and includes two of the five Sinner band members.

Sinner Album sales have always been seldom, it is estimated they sold less than 300,000 albums with their first three. The band's six and seven track albums of the 90s, Respect and Bottom Line, sold less than 100,000 combined and without any real advertising except that of word of mouth. Sinner's fourth Full Length Album, Judgement Day received fair reviews but again had little adveritsement put into it as the band spent most of its money on recording. Sinner's Nature of Evil released in 1998 proved to be the band's most successful original album with over 150,000 copies sold. Nature Of Evil was advertised heavily on the internet mostly on German Music web sites. In 1998 and 1999 Sinner released two Compilation Albums, the first was the Emerald Collection containing many tracks from Danger Zone and Comin' Out Fighting which sold just under 100,000 copies. The second compilation album which contained three songs from Bottom Line, three songs from Nature of Evil, four songs from Judgement Day, two from live recording and three new released songs, was called The Second Decade. The Second Decade became Sinner's best selling album, it sold over 250,000 coppies, most of which were bought on Ebay. The Second Decade by Sinner until 2005 was the only album available for sale on Ebay and proved to be an international success. The Second Decade brought new fans to Europe primarily from Latin America, Japan, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Poland and Greece.

End of Sanctuary and There Will Be Execution are currently Sinner's only 21st Century albums selling near a quarter of a million copies combined. To date Sinner has released eleven albums and sold over a million records world wide.
