Singapore Youth Flying Club
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Singapore Youth Flying Club or SYFC was established in 1971 by Singapore's Ministry of Defence to introduce aviation and provide flying training to the youth in Singapore.
The SYFC mainly bases its operations at Seletar Airport, where there is a centralised training centre. Facilities include a state-of-the-art computer-aided instruction ground school, flight briefing rooms with modern instructional training aids, an aircraft parking and maintenance hangar for its fleet of CT/4Es and Piper Warriors, and a library.
Apart from awarding student pilots the Private Pilot's Licence (PPL), the SYFC also conducts aeromodelling courses. Both of these activities are now part of the CCA programs in many schools in Singapore.
