Singapore Garden Festival

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Singapore Garden Festival (Chinese: 新加坡花卉节) is an international garden and flowers show organized by the National Parks Board of Singapore. Unlike other garden shows around the world, which tend to feature mainly domestic designers, the Singapore Garden Festival is unique in being the first in the world to gather top international and local award-winning garden and floral designers to showcase their creations under one roof.

The inaugural show will be held at the Suntec City Convention Centre from December 16 to 25, 2006 and is expected to attract more than 200,000 visitors. Positioned to be the premier garden and flower show in the Tropics, the organizers have benchmarked it against noteworthy shows such as UK’s Chelsea Flower Show and USA’s Philadelphia Flower Show, which are held in temperate zones.

The Festival will be held at Singapore's Gardens by the Bay when it opens in phases from 2010.
