Talk:Simple example of Azuma's inequality for coin flips

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Where does the 8 come from? Working from the definition on the page for Azuma's inequality, it seems like it should be \Pr[X_N > X_0+t] \leq \exp\left( \frac{-t^2}{2N}\right), which gives a much better bound. --128.119.246.169 21:59, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merger

A single example is not enough of a base for an article. And the example would help iin the article on Azuma's inequality. Pro on merging the two articles. -- Zz 16:35, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Often a single example clearly is enough to be an article (but I'm not saying that's the case this time). Michael Hardy 18:34, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
