Talk:Simone Melchior

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How do I edit the search to p/u Simone Cousteau, Simone Melchior, Simone Melchior Couteau??jo

You can't edit the search as such, but what you can do is create redirects. Create a new page with the title Simone Cousteau for example, and then type in #redirect [[Simone Melchior]].

The page will automatically go to the Simone Melchior page, and Google will pick it up, so that if anyone searches for Simone Couteau they will be shown the Simone Melchior page. Don't go overboard and create loads though as you don't want to end up cluttering the search so it becomes less useful. Angela 02:17, 17 Nov 2003 (UTC)

I have much more info, but surprising, I don't have her Birthday or Birth Place. Can anyone help? Should I put a blank space where I want to put the info when I get it? Jo.G 16:39, Nov 17, 2003 (UTC)

It's probably best not to leave a space. The biographies section of the manual of style tells people where information like the date of birth should go anyway should anyone have this information. Angela 19:51, 17 Nov 2003 (UTC)

How would I go about translating this page into French? There are many people who knew Simone who speak french. I want their input.Jo.G 01:31, Nov 20, 2003 (UTC)

Well, the French version wouldn't be used on this Wikipedia, but if you wanted to do a translation, you could go to the French Wikipedia (http://fr.wikipedia.org). There isn't yet an article on Simone Melchior, though there is one on fr:Jacques-Yves Cousteau. If you want to ask French speakers to help with the translation, their version of the Village pump is at fr:Wikipédia:Le Bistro. Once there is such an article, you can link it to this one by writing [[fr:Simone Melchior]] on this page which provides an interlanguage link. Angela 06:43, 20 Nov 2003 (UTC)

This Wiki stuff is fascinating. Thanks for the info. You know all the angles! Jo.G 18:21, Nov 20, 2003 (UTC)

How do I de-stub this work in progress? I think it is pretty concise and will only grow.Jo.G 14:51, Dec 12, 2003 (UTC)
