Simpson University is a small, private, liberal arts college located in Redding, California. The institution was formerly known as Simpson College but it is not related to Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.

The college was founded as the Simpson Bible Institute in Seattle in 1921 and named for Dr. Albert B. Simpson, a noted 19th century Christian evangelist and founder of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. In 1955, the college was moved to San Francisco and renamed Simpson Bible College. In 1968 the college was granted regional accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In 1971, the bible college curriculum was replaced by a liberal arts platform and the college became Simpson College. The school was relocated to its current campus in Redding in 1989.

Simpson offers undergraduate degree programs through its four major schools: Theology and Ministry; Business and Humanities; Natural, Behavioral and Mathematical Sciences; and Education. The university also offers graduate degrees in education and Christian ministry.

The school's sports teams are called the Red Hawks. The teams participate in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in the California Pacific Conference.
