Simei New Town

Simei New Town is a HDB New Town in East Region of Singapore, located east of Bedok and south of Tampines. Bounded by the Pan Island Expressway, Simei Avenue, north of private estate off Upper Changi Road, Simei Road, and west of private estate off Upper Changi Road North back to the Pan Island Expressway, For administrative purposes, the town is considered part of Tampines New Town, although it was planned and developed separately.

The new town is named after the Chinese "Four Beauties" (“四įžŽâ€ whose homophonic transliteration is "Simei") who were known to be the legendary four most beautiful women of ancient China.

Simei used to be a Malay kampung.

Simei is served by the Simei MRT Station at its town centre, the Pan Island Expressway to its north and the East Coast Parkway to its south.

In line with the government's New Town concept of decentralisation, Simei's town centre has a 6-story (excluding 1 basement) shopping mall, Eastpoint, providing everyday commercial services (e.g. an NTUC Fairprice supermarket, F&B outlets, banking services etc.)

There is also a community centre located at Simei St. 2 providing recreational and other facilities.
