[edit] Forum links
Some people may have a problem with the forum links because they are not really original content, they are commentary. I myself have removed forum links from external link sections in other articles several times. I'm not going to remove the boy/girl forum ones though, because it might be a special situation. However, I believe that if I did a RfC, there'd be nothing but another fifty-page styrofoam argument session that would decide nothing. I'd invite you to read this section: Wikipedia:External links, and perhaps decide for yourself. I read it and was unable to reach a conclusion. Wikipedia:Spam might also have some relevant material. --DanielCD 18:24, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
- Taking a second look, I think I left this comment after ya'll had already decided what to do in discussion (that's how far behind I am in keeping up with the debates! So much reading...) --DanielCD 14:42, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

- Still interested in Herostratus' project? I'm fishing for opinions, trying to take its temperature. I still have hopes for it, but don't want to get overzealous if there's not enough interest. --DanielCD 00:59, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm still interested. I'm not really sure how to go about it, though. I guess I'm hoping you'd give me some tips ;) = Silent War = 05:12, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] re: Pedophile activism
Hi, I'm messaging you because you're listed as having recently edited this article. What is going on with this article? I saw that the name changed again, its been protected, is tagged NPOV disputed, etc. Is it coming into shape, or what? Per some discussion starting with the article's AfD a couple weeks back, I created a project structure to address this article, here: User:Herostratus/Pedophilia I'm not now up to speed on article, so I'm asking current editors -- Do you think this would still be useful, or what? Thx Herostratus 14:43, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

- Right. I'm just going to keep it in my private userspace for now. We can engage there if you like. It's not formal project for now and I can't gaurantee it'll be worth your while. I can't work fast on this as a) I have to get up to speed on the article and b) I have a lot on my plate. However, I do intend to get up to speed eventually. I have two questions to start. The first is on User talk:Herostratous/Pedophilia/Pedophile activism (Why is there a "totally disputed" tag on this page?), which you can answer there, if you like. The second is, more personally, which you can answer here if you want to: I see from your user page that you have a dog in this fight. It'd only be human for it to be hard to prevent that slipping into article space. How well do you guard against that, do you think? Thanks. Herostratus 08:59, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- I publish my oppinions in my blog, and publish the facts on wikipedia. Check my edit history if you want to see what I'm talking about. I know that some people might see my interest in pedophilia related articles as "an attempt to spread child molester propaganda" or something of that like, but I keep my edits restricted to facts.

- I believe you, just checking. I have no reason to believe that you've spread propaganda about anything (and I do get the diff between pedophilia and child molester.) Good on you. Herostratus 23:18, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- OK. On reconsideration, I think the project, while of potential use, is probably not ready to be applied to any actual article yet, in that no one seems really revved up for that. That's OK, maybe later. In the meantime, I'm changing the only live task of the project for now to be, besides vetting and adding to the external links, working up an acceptable terminology. You're very welcome to contribute to that as you wish and are able. It's probably not going to go at super high speed, unless it does. Herostratus 21:06, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

- I got the Image from this site: http://www.childlover.org/index.php/Main_Page and I think it thus counts as fair use to use it here. Correct me if I'm wrong... = Silent War = 07:27, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Lolicon
There is another stawpoll on the disputed offensive image currently underway at Talk:Lolicon. Hipocrite - «Talk» 21:02, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I voted for having the image as a link, like I suggested earlier, then voted for in the first poll. Silent War 01:35, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Opinion request
Dear sir -- I am having an offline argument with a friend and would like a third party opinion. The issue we are debating: Emma Roberts versus Emma Watson, which is better? What do you think? I realize they may both be a bit older than you prefer (both 15), but perhaps you have some insight? We are having an extreme disagreement about this. Thank you for your consideration. 4.226.60.179 06:44, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
- "Sir"? That's a first... Anyhow, I'm unsure what exactly you mean by "which one is better". I can't really comment on which one is the better actress, if that's what you meant, as I have seen little of Watson's acting, and none of Roberts's, and I'm far from being a movie critic. To be honest, I'd never even heard of Roberts before. If you wanted an oppinion about which one was better looking, then I'm afraid I can't really comment on that either. Both are very attractive young women, but neither are (or were) my type, so to speak. Sorry if this doesn't help (and I doubt it will)
