Silber are commonly know as the reformed Weissglut. After many years playing under the name of Weissglut it came as a shock to many to see the dissolution of this great band. However, from the ashes of Weissglut, Tom v. K., Guido Winters and Thomas auf dem Berge formed a new combination. Without a keyboarder which is almost a trade mark of German bands and the new recruit Oli Emmrich as the second guitarist, Silber's journey had begun.

Silber were to release their debut album with Sony records in 2002. But a major reshuffle at the company saw Silber pull out of the contract not long before the album was to be released. It was to be well over a year before Silber were able to find a suitable record company in Neue Zeiten. So in 2003 Silber released their long awaited and much delayed debut album. The album had a number of changes to the one to be released with Sony. The album coverart was chaged from this to this and three songs were dropped, they were Ende schwarze Traüme, Niemand ist sicher and Kalt wie Eis the latter of which you can download from the media section of this site. The first self titled CD set Silber a platform on which to launch themselves into the Deutsche Musik world. Many were blown away by the clever mood touching music created by this group of talented bunch of musicians. With the lessons learnt from the first CD, Silber knew the direction they wanted to take for the next CD.

In late 2004 Silber broke off with their record label shortly before the new album was completed. Since then, they have been searching for a new deal. It was to be well over a year before it was announced the band were to form their own record label connectedways.records. With this, Silber were able to finally release their second album titled Hier und Jetzt.
