Sierra Gorda

The Sierra Gorda region of the State of Querétaro, Mexico, is a biosphere reserve and home to five Franciscan missions declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The region is formed by the municipalities of Arroyo Seco, Jalpan de Serra, Landa de Matamoros, Pinal de Amoles, and Peñamiller.
Its area is 4 298 sq km and it has 110 000 inhabitants (as of 2000).
