[edit] Biography

Sialeeds is the younger sister of Queen Arshtat. As a child, she was subjected to the brutal ascension policies of her mother Queen Fahlzram and her older sister. Fahlzram assassinated her elder sister and became queen, but unexpectedly died after only two years on the throne. After this, Arshtat, Sialeeds, and the assassinated princess's daughter Haswar entered into a pact. To prevent such a bloody struggle from happening again, there would only be one successor to the throne. Sialeeds and Haswar both renounced any claim that they would have to the throne, and neither of them would marry or have children. Because of this, Sialeeds had to cancel her engagement to Gizel Godwin.

With no claim to the throne, Sialeeds lived a life with a carefree attitude. She was known to drink, is quick to hold parties, and to sleep well into the day, punching out anyone who dares to wake her before she's ready. However, she was known to be quite skilled in the use of magic runes and with thrown chakram, as well as being having a sharp intellect and instinct for politics.

Sialeeds travels with her nephew, Prince Freyjadour to Lordlake, and is the person least affected by the tragedy, knowing full well what exactly happened to the city. When the child Toma went missing, she quickly offered that the royal party, being the most used to battle because it consisted of two Queen's Knights, should go to search. They found and rescued the boy before he could come to serious harm.

Back in the capital of Sol-Falena, Freyjadour and Sialeeds were reporting what happened on the visit to Arshtat. Although the Queen was initially very kind, welcoming home her son with open arms, and offering generous thanks to the other members of the search party, soon after the topic moved to Lordlake, the Queen started to change, talking about her divine justice and snapping out at anyone who spoke against her. She seemed to be going insane, but Ferid entered and calmed the Queen. Exhausted, the Queen dismissed the group.

Sialeeds decided to go take a nap, but was awoken by her niece Princess Lymsleia who was calling out loudly, searching for her big brother. Because she was woken up, she decided to go into town to see the list of candidates for the Sacred Games. While there, Sialeeds was thoroughly disgusted by Salum and Euram Barows, and feeling strangely nostalgic when she noticed that Gizel Godwin, her old fiancé, was among the candidates.

Sialeeds traveled to Stormfist, the location of the Sacred Games, with Freyjadour to tour the arena. While on the way, their ship was attacked by lizards. Sialeeds is deathly terrified of lizards and barely musters up the courage to help defeat them. When more show up, she nearly faints, until her ship is saved by Gizel. She quickly deduces that his timing was perfect and wondered if he set up the attack just to make himself look better. However, she muses that she wouldn't put it past Gizel to just set up the attack "just for the hell of it" rather than for any specific purpose.

Sialeeds and Gizel catch up on old times while the Prince explores the town, but when the Prince discovers a strange going on involving the gladiators, Sialeeds is quick to join with them. After discovering Zegai, the gladiator for Euram Barows, is conspiring with the enemy nation of Armes, Sialeeds gets suspicious, and wonders if Gizel had anything to do with this.

When the swordsman from Kanakan, Belcoot, shows great promise in the earlier matches, Ferid orders his son to go check up on him and see what he's like. Sialeeds decides to go with him. The man is rescued from a gang of patriotic thugs who don't like the fact that a foreigner could marry the Princess. Sialeeds is taken with him, admiring his past as a Falenian gladiator who wants to end the injustice of Falena's gladiator system. However, Sialeeds is disappointed that Belcoot can't handle his liquor.

However, Belcoot does not end up winning, due to being drugged with a substance known as Dark Arcanum. Sialeeds can only laugh hysterically at the outcome, knowing that Gizel was behind all of it. She then goes to talk to Zegai, and learns the truth: the men from Armes were merely talking to Zegai, they were not in conspiracy with him. The men did not allow Zegai to leave their presence, and, since Zegai was from Armes, it would be believed that Zegai was working with those men to kill the Queen. Zegai and Belcoot were the only men who could defeat Childerich, Gizel's champion. Sialeeds goes to Arshtat with this knowledge, but the Queen knows that, although Sialeeds is probably right, there is still no solid proof, only conjecture. Briefly, Arshtat lapses into a mania and states she'll do to Stormfist what she did to Lordlake. But Ferid calms her again. Sialeeds leaves, but not before getting Ferid to take custody of Zegai.

Afterwards, Sialeeds joined with Freyjadour and Lymsleia to get the Princess ready for her engagement ceremony. They visited the East Palace to see where the Dawn Rune once lay, but while there, they were approached by a mysterious woman in black, demanding to know if the missing Rune had been located. Lym is angered extremely by her arrogant and insulting attitude, but Sialeeds mentions there is something very off about her, and warns Lym to just leave her be. However, Lym and the Prince do not listen.

Sialeeds goes to Lunas and meets Haswar, preparing Lym for her purification ritual. Sialeeds discovers Lun and Logg stealing gold dust, and quickly offers to return them quietly to Raftfleet, rather than spark anger at punishing them. There, she introduces Freyjadour to Admiral Raja, who repelled the Armes invasion along with Ferid. After the return to Sol-Falena, the Queen informs Sialeeds that Gizel will be arriving in a few days.

At the celebration banquet, Sialeeds accompanies Freyjadour and Lyon. She tells her nephew he should be a cool player. Despite the fact that Lym's banquet and marriage to Gizel is a farce, they should be acting cool and calm, as if unaware of the fact that the royal family is aware of the fact that Gizel is plotting against them.

That night, Gizel makes his move. However, the royal family anticipated his moves. Sialeeds and Freyjadour fight off assassins. Although they manage to save themselves, Arshtat and Ferid are not so lucky. Sialeeds is upset, and very angry with Georg Prime for not saving them. Sialeeds realizes she must flee the castle, because, although the Godwins are planning to use Lymsleia as a puppet Queen, and is, for the time being, safe from harm, Freyjadour and herself are too dangerous to leave alive. As they flee the castle, Sialeeds notices the Sun Rune returning to the Sealed Room and accepts that Arshtat has died.

Sialeeds flees to East Palace, and then to Lunas. There, Haswar informs her to seek shelter in Barows territory, as Lord Salum is the only one with the military might enough to protect from the Godwins. She flees to Haud, and then to Rainwall. However, Sialeeds immediately suspects Lord Barows is up to something. He's only got his own interests, and not that of Freyjadour, Lymsleia, or herself.

Sialeeds realizes there is nothing they can do about it now, though, until she realizes that, if Freyjadour can get on the side of Raftfleet and Lordlake, they could move without Lord Barows. However, they would need a military genius to pull it off. Sialeeds knows someone, although she's not too thrilled about the idea. Sialeeds is thinking of Lucretia Merces, a brilliant tactician who advised Admiral Raja and Ferid. Sialeeds fights by her nephew's side in his campaign at Rainwall and Raftfleet, but after the second campaign at Rainwall, Sialeeds is told of Salum Barows's deal with the nation of Armes. Angered, Sialeeds follows Lucretia's plan to crush Lord Barows.

After the Armes army is destroyed, Sialeeds learns that Salum Barows was actually in possession of the Dawn Rune, and that he, not Lordlake, caused the uprising. Extremely angered, Sialeeds goes into the basement with Freyjadour and Salum's daughter, Luserina Barrows, and discovers that indeed, the Dawn Rune is there. The Rune selects the Freyjadour as it's bearer.

Angered, Sialeeds forcibly questions Lord Barows. She wonders whether he stole the Dawn Rune to give as a present to Armes in exchange for military backup, whether to use it as a bargaining chip with Gizel, or whether he was keeping it until he could figure out how to use it himself. Freyjadour's army breaks all contact with the Barows, Luserina elects to leave her family, and Sialeeds tells Salum that, if it wasn't for Luserina's sake, she would rip both Salum and Euram to pieces.

Sialeeds joins with Freyjadour's army and fights by his side. During the siege of Doraat, Sialeeds offers to surround the castle from the rear, in case the Queen's Knight Alenia attempts to leave with the Twilight Rune. She is confronted, instead, by Dolph, an assassin for the Nether Gate.

During the Queen's Campaign, Sialeeds quickly figures out that Lymsleia is leading the army because she feels so useless in the castle by herself since the Godwins can subvert her, and will attempt to see her brother on the battlefield so he can rescue her. Sialeeds accompanies Freyjadour and says she wants to see her niece again too. However, when the two siblings meet, Sialeeds betrays her nephew and holds Lym back from reaching him, using her considerable magical prowess to aid her escape.

Soon after this, Sialeeds comes into possession of the Twilight Rune, and unlike Alenia, the Rune allows itself to be used by her.

Sialeeds's motives, however, are unknown to all. She betrays Freyjadour, but she shows no inclination of following Gizel's orders either. When the Prince's army attacks Stormfist, Sialeeds turns the Twilight Rune on the Godwin forces, destroying all of Childerich's carefully laid plans. However, when Freyjadour meets Sialeeds in Godwin castle, she turns the Twilight Rune on him as well. However, because he has the Dawn Rune, he is not so easily fazed. Angered, Sialeeds flees using her magic.

Sialeeds deems there is one more thing she has to do, and when Lord Godwin is about to pull his troops out of Rainwall, Sialeeds offers to send the message. In Rainwall, she tells Lord Barows that the troops will be leaving, however, before she goes, she tells him she has information for him about Luserina. Sialeeds says the girl is doing well, and has forgotten all about her foolish father. Thus, Salum can rest in peace. She turns the Twilight Rune on Salum and kills him, sparing Euram because, now that he is head of the Barows household, the family will fall to ruins anyways.

During the siege on Sol-Falena, Sialeeds plans to destroy a large dam with the Twilight Rune, potentially sweeping away the Dahaka and Freyjadour's army, but also protecting them from the Sun rune's attack, but Freyjadour infiltrates the dam before hand and fights Sialeeds again. Weakened, Sialeeds turns to Sol-Falena, where she sees the Sun Rune about to be used. She orders Freyjadour to run, they'll all be killed by it. However, the Freyjadour turns his Dawn Rune on the Sun Rune, and, when Sialeeds uses the Twilight Rune in conjunction, they are able to stop it. However, Sialeeds's badly injured body can't handle the strain. She collapses, and the Twilight Rune passes to Lyon. Although Dr. Silva tends to her, Sialeeds tells her not too, since she knows she's a goner.

As she lies dying, Sialeeds muses as to why Lucretia is the last person she sees before she dies. The two women discuss Freyjadour, and Sialeed's confesses that, although her nephew is a wonderful man, she doesn't think he is capable of truly cleaning the Senate which has been an obstacle to both the country and the royal family in the past. Lucretia points out that she could have killed the Prince several times, and yet, she didn't. Sialeeds laughs, and says she really hates Lucretia just as she dies.

When Gizel lies dying later on, he points out that in the end, the true winner was not the prince, but Sialeeds, since her true plans were ridding Falena from both the Barrows and Godwin factions, leaving the country in the hands of her niece and nephew. She didn't feel that the two were capable of completely restructuring the Falenan government successfully.

Her body is buried in the Prince's Army Castle. Regardless of her true motives, the fact that she betrayed the Prince prevented her from being buried in the Royal Cemetery of the Sun Palace in Sol-Falena.

Sialeeds is last seen at the end of the game. Her spirit is with Arshtat and Ferid, congratulating Freyjadour the Prince wordlessly.
