This SI unit is named after [[{{{1}}}]]. As for all SI units whose names are derived from the proper name of a person, the first letter of its symbol is uppercase ({{{3}}}). But when an SI unit is spelled out, it should always be written in lowercase ({{{2}}}), unless it begins a sentence or is the name "degree Celsius".

Usage of the template
{{SI unit lowercase|Blaise Pascal|pascal|Pa}}.
Rationale for the template
These are important SI-related conventions that many get wrong, so it is better we make them systematically conspicuous. Using the lowercase template, though not incorrect, would simply point out a different, general, issue.
