Shyheim Franklin (born November 14, 1979) A.K.A the Rugged Child or simply Shyheim is a New York rapper who is a cousin to some of the Wu-Tang Clan members.
The youngest member of the Killah Beez, Shyheim entered with his debut album at the ripe young age of 14. Lyrically he impressed rappers with a skill level that would make any hip-hop fan forget about his age altogether. A native of Staten Island, New York Shyheim even spent time living with Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah. Shyheim was the second last to spit in the legendary Notorious B.I.G/Tupac Freestyle (Live At The Garden 1994). Shyheim released AKA the Rugged Child in 1994, The Lost Generation in 1996, while the acclaimed Manchild followed in 1999. Lastly, The Greatest Story Never Told dropped in 2005. Shyheim is currently working in the studio on his fifth album with featured artist such as Mya, and ODB's younger brother and also production by "The Heat Makers" and RZA. The album will include a documentary DVD on his life. Shyheim's daughter Skye was born on July 21, 2004.
He was also featured and had a role on the television sitcom "The Parent Hood".[citation needed]
