Shweta Gulati

Shweta Gulati (born 29th May) is an Indian Actress, doing the lead role of Tia Ahuja in the popular teen show Remix on Star One. A popular face on television, Shweta has essayed a variety of contrasting roles, from a girl who lost her parents and was ill-treated by her aunts in Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar to her more recent stint in Remix.

This pretty actress is a graduate of commerce, started her acting career with ads and was soon discovered by Prahlad Kakkar. She had gone for an audition with her cousin brother, they asked even her (Shweta) to give it a shot. Later she was shocked to know that she was selected and didn't know what to say when they asked how much she would charge. She worked in a call center for 4 months before venturing into television industry

She also used to co-anchor Pardey Ke Peechay on Star Plus, which takes a look at the world of TV stars. She could not manage doing Pardey Ke Peechay along with other serials so she had to quit the show. She acted in other serials like Lipstick, Shagun, and Kyun Hota Hai Pyar.

Unexpectedly she was given the role of Tia Ahuja in the hit StarOne Serial, Remix. Since she had already worked with the production house of the serial Remix in Lipstick and Kyon Hota Hai Pyar i.e Rose Audio Visuals run by brother-sister duo of Goldie Behl-Shrishti Arya, Shweta was apparently the first actor to be taken on board for the show Remix for the role of Tia Ahuja.

She had to go through voice training for the role, to speak like a naive 18 year old as Shweta in reality is much older than the character she plays on the show.

She’s one of the first stars to outrightly decline an Ekta Kapoor offer. "Saas-bahu characters are boring and storylines stale. I don’t want to be stuck in a never-ending saga" she says boldly.

She is also doing the role of a teenage girl in the movie 'Detective Nani' with actor Amit Verma where she plays a character called Neeti.
