Nope. He drives either a Hyundai or a Ferrari. Those are the two cars Jimbo is known to own. That image is a reference (at least on Wikipedia) to the Willy on Wheels vandal. --Shultz IV 06:52, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Hyundia is a cheap car and Ferrari is an expensive car. Odd. Well for the later it shows wikipedia donations are being syphoned off. But the thing is nobody else but you noticed the picture. Jimbo was already independently wealthy even before he started up Wikipedia. That's how he's able to afford the Ferrari. I'm hoping the donations are put to good use. Okay I didn't know that. Now the only reason for the keeping the image is that it's funny. It would be better with Jimbo's face photoshopped into it (I mean obviously a different version of the file, not a change of the existing). I won't move it back, not at all. I just... You know what it's funny that nobody before you noticed it and you're the only one who was all "how dare someone put that picture here" when nobody else cared to notice--a lot of people are stuck on permanent bot and maybe didn't even see what the picture was. I changed it to a person in a go-cart, but I was originally wanting a rickshaw. The problem is the free rickshaw pictures here don't show up too well. Maybe something else would be better besides balloon or the picture I currently put. I thought about a chariot but didn't think the current pictures here when resized down would do it. If you want screenshots of the "Linux OS", I suggest you check out some of the distribution articles, or the GNOME and KDE articles. The Linux kernel is just that, a kernel. The only screenshot you might get of it is the configuration or build process in a terminal. The consensus is that "In general, candidates with over 80% support are likely to succeed, and it is unusual for those below 75% to succeed, but all cases are weighed on their merits." Master of Puppets had around two-thirds support, which is a fairly high level, but doesn't represent a consensus. It may well be that a future nomination would succeed. Yeah. I had come to the page after it was deleted but I kept it one my watch page. As soon as it was re created I knew it would be re deleted so I copied it to my sub page. User:Yskyflyer/save. I Might not be allowed to have the copy on my sub page but what the heck. I also saved a copy to my computer in case somebody deleted my sub page. Do Not use this to recreate the page. (actually it is protected now so you can't anyway). Although there are ways to recreate the template, Don't try to other than on you user Sub pages--E-Bod 21:43, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

I was about to remove the template too when I hit a conflict with Jogers. If you would like list this article on AfD, you need to do a bit of research on the subject and write-up a convincing nomination. Hi Shultz IV,

Generally it isn't a good idea to edit another user's user page (granted, he did it to you first). Also, do you have any basis for assuming that Groval-land is actually a native speaker of Korean? I hadn't notice him making that declaration. There are people of other nationalities who live in South Korea, although not many. I really think it would be best if you revert your own edits to his page, although of course that's up to you.

I think I've blown my chance at rapport with Groval-land, so will generally be keeping my distance unless serious issues arise, which I rather hope they don't. (For the record, my own conversational Korean also leaves much to be desired). He does seem like an interesting guy, although his contributions thus far have been problematic.

I don't know why he doesn't type Korean thus far yet, however this is the English WP and therefore, he might think it's not OK to converse in Korean here and may have therefore even gotten an account on the Korean Wikipedia. I guess if he doesn't approve of my edits to his userpage, he can revert it if he wishes.

Hey guys. Let me begin by saying to you, Shultz, that I cannot, for the life of me, fathom what would have made you want to upload a picture of ESkog [nothing against ESkog, but I don't see how doing so could be construed as an even remotely productive activity]. Beyond that, I fail to understand how you could think that doing so would be regarded by ESkog (or anyone else) as a good or even acceptable thing to do. It's not discourteous to upload someone's image, but it's in incredibly bad taste, and a potential violation of Wikipedia's harassment policy. I'm sure you'll find that if you direct your energy toward building the encyclopedia's article and project space, you'll find that you're not stepping on so many toes. Now to both of you...if you guys are having difficulties with each other that I can help ameliorate in some way, please don't hesitate to let me know. Shultz, I have reverted this edit as it seems to violate our policy on what Wikipedia is not, specifically the part about a "crystal ball". Speculative futurology is certainly an interesting topic for a blog, or even another wiki, but material here needs to be better sourced than that can be at this time. We don't want to give our readers the false impression that dechronification is a confirmed thing or that a lot of reliable sources (in science, the best thing would be a peer-reviewed journal) have written about it. Yes, I think Scientific American would probably be a worthwhile source for starting an article on the topic. Some of the stuff you have in the current version of the article isn't really encyclopedic (it seems to be more of a sales pitch), but we can work together on that when and if the time comes. I place the doppelganger-other tag before creating a doppelganger account in case I don't log off in time to avoid the autoblock. This way, I'd show admins that I was just creating a doppelganger so I can get them to un-autoblock me quickly. Jimbo is one of the most heavily-targeted users by vandals on Wikipedia, for obvious reasons. This is why I've decided to impostorproof Jimbo as thoroughly as I can. I'm also building credibility through this impostorproofing effort. It shows other users that I know what's good for Wikipedia and will do what I can to make it better and safer. It's good to prevent something bad before it happens. It also gives would-be impostors less and less options to make an impersonating name.

Another good thing I do is patrol the Newpages and tag non-notable articles for speedy deletions. The obvious downside to that is these contributions won't show up on my edit history because the article gets deleted soon after. I consider all of them cruft. The first three have nothing to do with building an encyclopedia. You already have a weblog, so I don't see why your hobbies belong here. The encounters one is the most encyclopedia-related, but it seems divisive. The song lyrics one would be irrelevant if there was any content. The rescue pages seem to me to be counterproductive. And the PIHNN page was just beyond the pale in its offensiveness. So, basically, I think all of them either distract or detract from the encyclopedia, and are thus cruft. I just saw that User:Јіmbο_Wales has recently been indef-blocked for an inappropriate username. The tag says to notify you when action is taken against your Doppelgänger, so I'm just letting you know. I did say that I don't think you're doing any harm by creating these doppelgangers. However, I also said that we have several tools running all the time to watch for problematic new usernames which include most of these alternate characters you're using, so I don't think you are really having much of an impact.

Don't worry about trying to make this community "like" you - as I said, that's not what we're really here for, and there will be some who will never like you. No one blocked this occurrence of Jimbo's doppelganger as of yet. I didn't expect that. If an impersonator inserts non-latin letters thoroughly enough, these tools you mention may not detect it. I encourage beefing up these tools' detection methods though.

About the comment that "there will be some who will never like you", that applies to everybody on Wikipedia, does it? It's something I've wrestled with for the majority of my life- I would vehemently struggle to get as many people as possible to like me. It never completely works but I've kept trying anyway because I felt like I was inching ever closer towards the goal without actually reaching it, thinking I could maybe reach it any day now. This habit is as difficult to kick as smoking perhaps, because I also know that if I don't keep trying to make people like me anymore, I could start to lose friends due to "lack of maintenance" so to speak. --Shultz IV 03:02, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I'd say it applies to everyone on Wikipedia as well as in life. If your goal is to be universally liked, you're doomed to always be unhappy. Well, given the history of low-level conflict between you two, I think it would be the most likely assumption for someone to think you were being sarcastic in that edit summary. It just seems a bit over the top and unnecessary - why did you feel the need to mention that the previous edit was his in the first place? Now as someone who has talked with you extensively, I don't really think that kind of sarcasm is really your nature, and it is likely that you are being serious (although in an oddly phrased way). I don't think it's accurate to call your actions trolling, but I think we've discussed several times the need for you to be careful around users with whom you have had prior conflicts. Remember:

• There is no need to let yourself get worked up around one user. You are both extremely productive members of the community when you aren't dealing with each other.
• It doesn't matter one iota what image is displayed on a Long Term Abuse page. Edit warring over it may well be considered WP:LAME (that page is quite a funny read actually) and certainly isn't worth getting upset about.
• As a contributor, I think you are at your best when improving articles, especially those dealing with Korean geography and culture.

In general, you should spend less time doing things trying to make others happy and instead focus on improving Wikipedia with your expertise. Ultimately, that is the fastest way to earn the genuine respect of other contributors here. (ESkog)^(Talk) 04:35, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

I have been out of town in the past several days, so this is why I haven't edited here in a while. I was helping my family move to a new hometown and I'm back only tonight. Tomorrow, I'll have to be off again- I only came back to take care of business that could only be taken care of here in my town. I'll be gone for at least one day tomorrow, maybe more, because I still have the old house to clean up. There is still a lot to sweep, vacuum, and throw away. Hello, I am half-guessing you know this by now already, but referring to your modification of the Revised Romanisation for Chongjin almost two months ago, I'd like to mention that while Ch- (and -j-) in MR does correspond to J- (-j-) in RR, Ch'- in MR corresponds to Ch- in RR, so Cheongjin and not Jeongjin was the correct one (which is why Chuch'e => Juche and not Juje). But the apostrophe is often dropped in English so that's probably what confused you! Just thought you might like to know :D -- KittySaturn 16:42, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok. After reading this, I read on a talkpage (don't remember the exact one anymore) that Samcheonpo merged with Sacheon in 1995. For the record, I have nothing whatsoever against you. The page was created when I was trying to find you a mentor...and its deletion was long overdue. I took the comment off one of the User:IP pages, but I think a better approach to getting the notices removed from those pages is to get freak to remove them hirself. If you feel uncomfortable approaching freak about it yourself, that's something ESkog should be able to convince freak to remove. If you check out my contribs the past few months, you'll notice I haven't been very active lately, so I can't give a very reliable testimony to freak regarding your more recent contributions...I'm glad to see from your userpage that you and ESkog are apparently getting along quite well. Really tho, when it comes to undoing the actions of another admin, I get uncomfortable--I'm much more comfortable persuading the other admin to undo their action themself...it avoids a great deal of conflict.
