- The Shrike was the title of an unsuccessful 1955 film directed by and starring Jose Ferrer with June Allyson. Ferrer plays a successful theatrical directdor driven to a mental breakdown by the machinations of his wife (Allyson)
- The Shrike was the title of the 1952 pulitzer prize winning drama by Joseph Kramm.
- Shrikes, the family of predatory birds known for their habit of catching insects, small birds or mammals and impaling their bodies on thorns.
- Some models of the Rockwell Aero Commander aircraft were subnamed Shrike Commander.
