  • Shrek the Third will be the first Mike Myers film to be released by Paramount Pictures since 1993's Wayne's World 2.
  • Shrek the Third was originally to be released in Winter 2006.
  • On a 2004 episode of NBC's failed TV show Father of the Pride, Donkey was featured, stating that Shrek 3 will come out in 2006.
  • The movie coincidentally features five actors from NBC's Saturday Night Live. Two actors are currently on the show, while three were previous cast members. The actors are Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cheri Oteri, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph.
  • Shrek the Third reunites two members from the Monty Python troupe, John Cleese and Eric Idle. Cleese will be reprising his role as King Harold, while Idle will provide his voice for the new character Merlin The Magician.
  • The band Smash Mouth, whose recorded a version of "I'm a Believer" for the original, recorded a special recording of Artie's Dance.
  • The website has been slightly updated. It is the same except now Shrek is wearing a very small crown on his head, like in the teaser poster.
  • The first movie trailer for Shrek The Third will be shown before Eragon, on December 15th. It is one of the most delayed trailers for a film, with over 15 films coming out later with at least one trailer. (Surf's Up, The Simpsons Movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, ect.)
