Show Your Bones is the second full-length album by new New York indie rock band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It was released on March 27, 2006 (March 28 in North America) and nominated for a 2007 Grammy Award for "Best Alternative Music Album".[1]
The album is more subdued in tone from previous records, especially the caustic noise of their self-titled debut EP. Producer Squeak E. Clean adds subtle layers of keyboards, sirens, bells, handclaps; five of the 11 songs utilize acoustic guitar, all prominently.
It was originally stated that the album was to be a concept album about the lead singer Karen O's cat entitled Coco Beware, but this turned out to be untrue. [1] The cat does exist, but belongs to a friend of Karen's.
In December 2006, the album was named the 2nd best album of the year by NME magazine, as well as Cheated Hearts being voted the 10th best song.
