Short-handed goal

A Short-handed Goal is a goal scored in Ice Hockey when a team is outnumbered by their opponents. The reason the team would be outnumbered is due to a penalty incurred, be it a minor or major infraction. Short-handed goals are often scored when a team is down one man due to a minor penalty, in rare occasions a team that is down two men have scored short-handed.
