Shoranur

Shoranur is a town in Palakkad district, Kerala, South India, on the banks of the Bharathapuzha River. It is an important Southern Railways junction; the Mangalore- Shoranur line joins the Trivandrum- Chennai line. There is also a railway line to Nilambur Road.

Cheruthuruthi, where Kerala Kalamandalam is situated, is right across the banks of the Bharathapuzha. Kerala Kalamandalam is a major center for learning Kerala's performing arts including Kathakali, Koodiyattam, Koothu, etc.

The Shoranur railway station is the only station in Kerala having six platforms and railway lines to 4 different routes.
