Shondra Kinsolving is a fictional supporting character in the DC Comics universe. She was introduced during the Knightfall storyline in Batman #486, November (1992). She was created by Doug Moench and Jim Aparo.

[edit] Fictional character biography

Shondra was a trained physiotherapist who met Bruce Wayne when he was dealing with exhaustion and helped to look after him after he was injured by Bane. The two began to develop a romantic attachment but before Bruce could fully commit to her she was kidnapped by her half brother Benedict Asp, who turned her abilities to evil uses.

Asp revealed Shondra's healing powers and along with his own psychic powers used her to telekinetically kill an entire village. Bruce eventually defeated Benedict, but the events traumatized Shondra. Her psyche regressed back into childhood but not before she healed Bruce of a broken back he had been suffering from.

Shondra has been in the care of a foster family and is slowly recovering from her ordeal.

She was recently mentioned in the Hush storyline, when Barbara Gordon asks Alfred Pennyworth if they should call Shondra to operate Batman after he fractured his skull. When Alfred asserts that she is not mentally well, Barbara informs him that "she got better," and may thus have recovered.

[edit] Powers and abilities

  • Shondra is a low level metahuman telekinetic with the ability to heal.
  • Her powers can apparently be boosted high enough to kill by other metahumans with psionic abilities.
