ShmooCon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ShmooCon is a hacker convention organized by The Shmoo Group in the US east coast region. It was first held in 2005 in Washington, D.C.

Organizers for the event have said, off the record, that they pride themselves in providing an event with the quality of BlackHat at a price everyone can afford. Shmoocon as an organization has been known to help sponsor and provide support for other events that share similar interests and have similar goals.

It is hypothesized, too, that Shmoocon attracts more feds, or Federal government employees, than any other event of its type, mostly due to the fact that it conveniently takes place in Washington, D.C..
