Shiva Star or Shiva is or was a high-powered plasma research project with plans of using it as a weapon. It is or was a system for shooting down incoming missiles with projectiles of plasma traveling at 3,000 to 10,000 kilometers per second.

Between 1995 and 2000 it was officially dropped, but there is suspicion that it is being continued in secret.
