Prince Shiva/Empress Shiva (シヴァ・トランスバール皇子／シヴァ・トランスバール女皇) is a character from Galaxy Angel.

The only surviving member of the royal family of the Transbaal Kingdom, Prince Shiva is the target of assassination of Prince Eonia, and is under the constant protection of both the Angel Troupe and the Elsior. Raised on the White Moon, he is somewhat antisocial towards others and would rather remain secluded within his room onboard the Elsior. Also quite belligerent to Takuto at first, demanding that the Elsior head straight back to Transbaal and stop Eonia at once. Possesses a heavy burden of being the last of the royal family, with knowledge that he must become king at such a young age.

One of Shiva's hobbies is chess, which Takuto introduced to him. Shiva is also (at least at first) quite naive about the world outside the royal family, as he did not realize he had to pay for a chess set he wanted from one of Mint's family's vendors. Takuto offered to pay for it, thus beginning the process of getting the young royal to trust him.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Through the course of the first Galaxy Angel game, if Takuto manages to build up a good enough relationship with Shiva, he learns that Shiva is actually a girl. Later still, Takuto also learns that Shatoyan is Shiva's foster mother. Because Eonia killed Shiva's biological mother, the infant Shiva was taken to Shatoyan, and she raised the young princess as her own daughter. In the sequels Galaxy Angel: Moonlit Lovers and Galaxy Angel: Eternal Lovers, Shiva's gender is public knowledge and she rules as empress.

In the first game, it is heavily hinted that Shiva has a slight crush on Takuto, based on a discussion the two had. Shiva asked Takuto who among the Angels he liked the best, but an embarrassed Takuto countered and asked if he had a girl he liked too (not realizing at the time Shiva is actually female). Shiva pointed out that he was only a 10 year old child and demanded to know if Takuto ever thought before speaking. In response, Takuto replied that under the current situation (fugitives from the all-but-unstoppable forces of Eonia), even a 10 year old would be considered an adult.

A seemingly unimpressed Shiva asked if Takuto meant he'd even accept a 10 year old for a girlfriend, to which the Transbaal officer happily quipped, "Of course! With love, age doesn't matter!" Shiva then presses on, asking if he wouldn't mind being with someone who is selfish, demanding and unflexible. When Takuto replies none of that matters if the feelings are pure, Shiva softly lamented, "Then if I wasn't a prince..."

By the time of Moonlit Lovers, Shiva has apparently overcome her crush, noting how glad she is Takuto and his Angel are doing so well together. This suggests it was simply a case of puppy love. However, considering that Shiva, as a royal, is very good at hiding her feelings, this may or may not be true.
