From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shiroyama (城山町; -machi) is a town located in Tsukui District, Kanagawa, Japan.
As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 23,288 and a density of 1,170.25 persons per km². The total area is 19.90 km².
In February 19, the current mayor of Shiroyama was recalled for denying to join Tsukui, Sagamiko, and in the future, Fujino, to merge with Sagamihara.[1] One month later, the new pro-merger mayor has been elected and the Sagamihara-Shiroyama Gappei Kyougikai has been created. If the merger is successful, there will be no municipalities within Tsukui District, therefore Tsukui District will officially dissolve on March 11, 2007 (Scheduled merger date with Sagamihara).
