Shiroishi Munesane

Shiroishi Munesane (????-1599) a retainer of the Japanese clan of Date during the Sengoku Period of the 16th century. Munesane served as a personal retainer under the famous Date Masamune and was given the Shiomatsu Castle following the year of 1586. Following the Date's invasion of Aizu during the year of 1589, Munesane served under Date Shigezane, greatly distinguishing himself throughout the course of the battle. Through Munesane's efforts he received the Mizusawa Castle and an income of 5,000 koku. It is thought that Munesane was around the age of 47 - 55 when his death was before him.
