Shirehampton

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shirehampton is a village near Avonmouth, at the edge of Bristol, England. Separated from Bristol by the length of the Avon Gorge, the community retains its village feel, while still being a perfect location for reaching all parts of the city and its work environment. Looking across the River Avon towards the green fields of North Somerset and, from Penpole Point, to the far hills of South Wales, the village is within easy reach of all the main motorway junctions in the area, including the new M4 Second Severn Bridge crossing, and is served by Shirehampton railway station.

Shirehampton has a liberal filling of Churches, schools, shops and pubs. It has a number of beautiful parks and interesting antiquities nearby. These include Blaise Castle Estate, Kingsweston Roman Villa, and Blaise Castle House Museum.
