The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is a Local Government Area of Western Australia based in the town of Wongan Hills (30°54′S 116°43′E; post code: 6603). It covers an area of about 3,400 km² in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia about 180km north-north-east of the capital, Perth. It has a population of 1,503 (ABS 2001).

In 1887, the Melbourne Road Board was gazetted. It was renamed to Wongan-Ballidu Road Board in 1926. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.[1]
