The Shire of Moora is a Local Government Area of Western Australia based in the town of Moora (30°39′S 116°01′E; post code: 6510). It covers an area of about 3,770 km² in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia generally between the Brand Highway and Great Northern Highway about 180 km north of the capital, Perth. It has a population of 2,559 (ABS 2001).

In 1908, the Moora Road Board was gazetted out of land from Victoria Plains. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.[1]
