The Shire of Cuballing is a Local Government Area of Western Australia based in the town of Cuballing (32°50′S 117°11′E; post code: 6311). It covers an area of about 1,200 km² in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia along Great Southern Highway north of Narrogin and about 175km south-east of the capital, Perth. It has a population of 685 (ABS 2001), and over 10% of its area contains native dryandra forests. The economy, worth approximately $20 million per year to the state economy, is based on agriculture, with cereal grains, sheep and pig farming being the main activities^[1]

In 1902, the Cuballing Road Board was gazetted. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.^[2]
