The Shire of Coolgardie is a Local Government Area of Western Australia based in the town of Coolgardie (30°57′S 121°09′E; post code: 6429). It covers an area of approximately 30,400 km² in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia and lies roughly west and south of the city of Kalgoorlie. The Shire of Coolgardie has a population of 4,240.

The Shire began life as two entities - Coolgardie Municipal Council (1894), and Coolgardie Road Board (1896). As the gold rush waned in the area, the former was merged into the latter in 1921, and on 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.
