Shinozuka Yoshio

Shinozuka Yoshio is a veteran of Unit 731 of the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945).


While serving in the Imperial Japanese Army, he participated in the production of biological agents and performed vivisections on live prisoners. Feeling remorse for self-admitted atrocities he committed while serving in the unit, he has testified on behalf of victims of Unit 731. In 1997 he testified on behalf of 180 Chinese victims seeking redress from the Japanese government.
