Shinnecock Hills Golf Club

Shinnecock Hills Golf Club is a prestigious links-style golf club located in Southampton on Long Island in the U.S. state of New York. It has hosted the U.S. Open four times in three different centuries.
The club was founded in 1891 and was originally laid out by William Dunn Jr., with the assistance of numerous members of the Shinnecock Indian Nation tribe. It was one of the five clubs which founded the United States Golf Association in 1894. It was redesigned by Charles B. Macdonald and Seth Raynor in around 1916, retaining five of Dunn's original holes, and redesigned again Howard C. Toomey and William S. Flynn in 1931, retaining five of Macdonald and Raynor's holes and the green of a sixth hole.
Shinnecock Hills was ranked third in Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Courses Ranking for 2005.
