Shine on Brightly, by Procol Harum, was released in 1968.
The album was extremely influential in the developing of progressive rock, breaking all normal music standards with the 17 minute epic "In Held Twas In I", which marked the beginning of the trademark 20 minute progressive rock suite's that would arise later in the seventies.
