Shin Shinano

Shin Shinano is the designation of a back-to-back HVDC facility in Japan. The HVDC back-to-back facility Shi Shinano is equipped with thyristor static inverters and went in 1977 into service. The Shin-Shinano operates with a symmetrical voltage of 125 kV. Before the extension in 1992 the maximum transferable power was 300 megawatts, now they are 600 megawatts.
