Shin-Kobe Station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shin-Kōbe station (新神戸駅 Shin-Kōbe-eki?) is a train station of Shinkansen Sanyo line serving the city of Kobe and the surrounding area. It is located on the north side of the city of Kobe on the foot of Mount Rokko. Shinkansen mostly runs inside tunnels under the mountains in this area. The station exists in small space inbetween two long tunnels (Rokko and Kobe Tunnels).
This station was newly built for Sanyo Shinkansen. Many passengers use Shin-Osaka station to the east instead of Kobe Station to ride on Shinkansen. Although Kobe-station is closer, it is often more convinient to use Shin-Osaka Sataion because it is easily accessible by trains and all Shinkansen stops at Shin-Osaka while some passes through Kobe Station.
