Shimada, Shizuoka

Shimada (島田市; -shi) is a city located in Shizuoka, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 75,463 and the density of 575.88 persons per km². The total area is 131.04 km².

The city was founded on January 1, 1948. It is twinned with Richmond, California in the USA.
