Shigeru Ishiba

Shigeru Ishiba (石破 茂 Ishiba Shigeru, born February 4, 1957) is Japan's Minister of State for Defense, a cabinet position under Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.

He is a graduate of Keio University and a former banker. He was a major proponent of bringing Japan into the multinational force in Iraq in 2003.
