Shigeki Hosokawa (細川茂樹) is a former Japanese model and now a Japanese television and movie actor. He was born on December 16th, 1971 in Ogaki, Gifu prefecture in Japan.

Shigeki Hosokawa attended Ogaki Municipal North Elementary School and Ogaki Municipal North Junior High School. He then graduated from Ogaki Public High School in 1988 and had his first acting role in a TBS J-Drama in 1994. He then made a brief appearance on a Japanese variety gameshow in the same year.

He was then a model from 1995 to 2002, in mid 2002 he took time off to study acting more thoroughly. He did not go to an acting school after his high school graduation so he used this time to improve his natural talent. Around the end of summer of 2004 he began searching for new roles. Though mainly a model from 1995 to 2002, he had bit parts in CMs and J-Drama. One of his more notable roles during his "time off" from acting was as Takeda-sensei, a teacher in the hit live action adaptation of GTO. he was now hoping for a starring role in a television series.

In late 2004, it was decided that Shigeki Hosokawa would be the lead in the upcoming season of the long running Kamen Rider franchise, Kamen Rider Hibiki. He drew fans from both the target demographic of children and house wives alike. Many fans also praised him as being the first professional actor to join the Kamen Rider legacy in years. He was often praised for portraying the mature and teacher-like Hibiki as a realistic and likable character with good charisma.

After Kamen Rider Hibiki finished airing, he the landed the role of Taira no Shigehira in the Samurai Drama, Yoshitsune. Both Kamen Rider Hibiki and Yoshitsune aired in the 8 0'clock time slot, AM and PM respectively. Because both shows aired in different 8 o'clock timeslots, he has been given the nickname "The 8 o'clock man".

Hosokawa's next major role was that of the the ill fated F.B.I. agent, Raye Penber, in the live action adaptations of the Death Note manga.

He then went on to play the father character in the TV movie, Kaigo Etoile (The Nursing Care Star) which will start its Japanese airing on September 18th, 2006. He played the father of the main character. His role is that of an aging and divorced father who has developed dementia.

He is a known fan of the James Bond series, he has said that his favorite aspect of the Bond series is the car that the title character uses. He has been quoted as saying that the Aston Martin seen in the James Bond films is his favorite type of car.
Shigeki Hosokawa gained many fans from the English speaking side of the world thanks to his role as Hibiki in Kamen Rider Hibiki. In what is considered to be the best cast in Kamen Rider history, his performances stands out due to his likeability and love for his role.
