This article is about the town in Nemuro Subprefecture, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan. For the city in Kamikawa Subprefecture with the same name, see Shibetsu, Hokkaido.
Shibetsu (標津町, -chō) is a town located in Shibetsu District, Nemuro Subprefecture, Hokkaido Prefecture. As of December 31, 2004 it has an estimated population of 6,239 and an area of 624.46 km².

- 1901 - Uembetsu village (now Rausu town) splits off
- 1923 - Shibetsu village becomes second-class municipality
- 1946 - Nakashibetsu village splits off
- 1958 - Shibetsu village becomes Shibetsu town
