Shiamak Davar

Shiamak Davar is an Indian choreographer. He has choreographed some of the very big Bollywood movies like Dil to Pagal Hai, Bunty Aur Babli, the latest being Dhoom 2. His Dancers are seen in almost all the hit music videos and songs. He also choreographed Film Fair award 2006 and represented India at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2006.

Davar established his own school of dancing in 1992, Shiamak Davar Institute for the Performing Arts (SDIPA), which is famous in India and is responsible for bringing out some of the best talents in the Country. Originally with two centres in Mumbai, today there are branches in all the major Indian cities, including Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Goa, Hyderabad.

SDIPA is known for teaching all kind of dances and potential professional dancers have an intensive training session where the students are auditioned by Davar. Not all students join with the intention of becoming professional dancers, some join for fun, for exercise and to lose weight.

At the end of each workshop conducted by SPIDA, there is a class presentation or a stage show organised by the Institute. The shows are organised twice a year know as Summer Funk and Winter Funk.

SDIPA's motto is "Have feet will dance".
