[edit] November 2006
I've put this at the top, as I figured it made sense to have more recent stuff up top. Change if this is disagreed with. Grouped some bits together, and re-introduced the UEFA Rankings, after they were removed without explanation. They are useful information, and have a place on the page I believe. I've put them in the European football section, so as to try and reduce the amount of main sections. Similarly grouped notable former players with the current players section, and named it accordingly. The trivia with regards to the European unbeaten at home run, and teams knocked out, has been removed (again without explanation seemingly). I've left this out for the time being, as I was unsure whether others may have considered them too 'minnow'ish to include. EnDai 21:26, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] August 2006 changes
Few edits and bits added, trying to bring this a bit more up to date.
- Edited the article a little. Mostly to make it look a little better. Removed a few POV statements too. Fair play for the effort. If you need a hand let me know --Dodge 11:07, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Cheers, pretty new to all this stuff, but figured may as well try and get it together. Thanks for tidying it up! EnDai
- Lads, anyone any idea if there is a current chairman of the club? The page still has Finbar but as we all know he's gone. Thanks --LeixlipRed 21:44, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] September 2006
- No idea if we have a new chairman yet. Maybe Chairman could be replaced with CEO? Would seem strange not to have Ollie listed there considering he actually owns 99.9%(?) of the club shares. Slowly but surely getting the history done. Good to see others throwing some stuff in as well-stuff we didn't actually know!!! Could someone put in a pic of BD's crest or fan display to give people an idea of what it's all about? No idea how to.RedsIndependent.com 03:26, 4 September 2006
- Slapped one up there. EnDai.
- If I get round to it I have a good bit of stuff at home I could type up. My current project is to get all Shels players on Wiki. Having a few issues with some of the more "common" named players. I think changing Chairman to CEO is a good idea. I'll go ahead and do it. Anyone has any objections they can change it LeixlipRed 18:15, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- Tried to change it there but it's not as simple as a name change. Perhaps someone else could give it a try? LeixlipRed 18:19, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- Simply removed his name. Doesn't look good having a blank chairman section, but better than flase info I guess. EnDai.
- Tried it as well, but to no avail. Added in further info about the dispute in the 30s. Was reading up on it earlier today and started a page on Reds United. Hopefully people start filling in stuff about LoI clubs who are no longer in the league. Some good stuff around on Cork Celtic and Hibs.RedsIndependent.com 21:53, 4 September 2006
- I've done St Francis and I'm writing up St James Gate at the moment. Fair play on the updates but remember not to make it too long. For an idea of what not to do, look at Cork City F.C.'s history section. Don't be afraid to edit something out. Dodge 10:24, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- If I finish work early tomorrow I'll get in some reading and try and add some prose to the page. It's pretty impressive already. Excellent job on the Reds United page LeixlipRed 22:04, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- Done a few slight changes to things like records and trivia to try and make it a bit more accessible. I'll have a look into getting a BD display image up or something this evening. Seeing as this page will be seen by more than just existing fans, is it worth putting up a section before History, with remaining fixtures, and locations, for the season into it? Never know who may stumble accross it I guess. Could move the current squad section into this aswell and group it all (upcoming fixtures/current squad/players on loan/international players) under a heading like Season 2006 or something. Was doing a few experiments with formatting it earlier, but nothing saved in case its considered pointless. Could do it in no time if its worth it though.EnDai 10:24, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- Don't put up fixtures lads. Its an enyclopedia not an advert. Have a look at other european clubs for the style of Club articles here.
- Fair enough, hence the asking.

- Changes look great. Well done! I'll write up on the 50s tonight and I've info on Jacobs as well. Maybe the Defunct LoI clubs section could be changed to Former LoI clubs as some that left the LoI like James Gate are still going. Probably a more accurate reflection. Saw the CCFC one a while ago. Looked awful! Couldn't fit 111 years of history in like that. ;) RedsIndependent.com 21:00, 6 Sept 2006
- Fair play for doing up all the history, great to have it all taking shape. Page is starting to look pretty impressive. Started doing up some of the players pages, did alot of updates to Jayo and Joey's pages. EnDai 18:41, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- Nearly finished on the history front. Only this decade to do! BD pics look great! I created a page for Harold's Cross as well. Maybe others will come across it and expand it. RedsIndependent.com 04:48, 11 September 2006

[edit] October 2006
Why did somebody change the Honours list? We have not won 12 'Irish League Championships'. We have not competed in the Irish League since 1920. Why did someone take away the flags which were beside the Honours won which gave people an 'easy' explanation of why we have won both the IFA and FAI Cups? RedsIndependent.com 09:20, 6 Oct 2006
- It was not clear from the text. Maybe a more lenghty explanation would have helped. What are you referring to?.--Panarjedde 18:31, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- In 1921 following the partition of Ireland, the Football Association of the Irish Free State took control of football in what is now the Republic of Ireland, and Shels left the Irish Football League to become founder members of the new Free State League (now the Football League of Ireland).
- The club played under 2 different football associations, one representing Ireland as a 32 county state, and one (current) representing Ireland as a 26 county body (Republic). Please refrain from editing what you do not comprehend. EnDai 23:24, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

- Panarjedde, its obvious you have no understanding of Irish football or Irish history so please don't edit this or any other page on teams in this league without posting in the talk page Dodge 02:34, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Seidodge, it's obvious you have no understandign of the matter under discussion so please don't get involved--Panarjedde 14:02, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- LOL I don't think I'll ever understand you wikizealots. I got involved precisely because I do know what I'm talking about Dodge 14:56, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Be proud of that, and go around boasting this achievement of yours. If you want I can create an appropriate barnstar for you.--Panarjedde 15:01, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I edited the info at the start of the page which states Shelbourne are one of only two clubs to win both the IFA and FAI Cups. This is untrue as Bohemians have achieved this as well. I edited the piece and somebody changed it back. Why? RedsIndependent.com 00:05 17 Octobber 2006
[edit] Category created
I've created a Shelbourne F.C. Category I've added the main article, Reds united and Tolka Park to it. I'll create player categories and manager categories when i get a chance (probably this evening). Any queries, fire away Dodge 10:28, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've actually just created them but I won't be able to add the tags to any players until this evening, so if anybody wants to do it feel free. Add ((Category:Shelbourne F.C. players)) and ((Category:Shelbourne F.C managers)) (with ( being replaced by [ etc.) to add them to the Categories. Dodge 10:36, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Jim Crawford
I was under the impression Jim was born in Chicago? Seems to be some disagreement over this LeixlipRed 21:54, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- doesn't matter where he was born. He was brought in Ireland and has represented ireland at U21 level. Dodge 23:41, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Colours
What is this ridiculous argument about the markings on our jersey? That status quo on the template page is a joke. 4 people decide to agree between each other that their POV is right and then start indiscriminately changing pages that they have no vested interest in. Ridiculous stuff LeixlipRed 18:45, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- This stuff is decided by consensus. If you do not like it, you can change it, but utill you gather "new" consensus, the current POV is the official one.
- It would be also nice to try to understand the reasoning behind this POV. The anger with which you are attacking this policy hist you did not even try to understand other editors' POV, which is bad, in a collaborative effort like this.--Panarjedde 22:47, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Collaborative effort? 4 people out of 6 billion on this planet decide something and its a consesus? More like 4 people deciding they're going to force their own personal view on what a football jersey on wikipedia should look like. Who cares? Just go away and interfere somewhere else LeixlipRed 13:54, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- "Collaborative effort" was a reference to Wikipedia. And its meaning is just the opposite of "Just go away and interfere somewhere else".--Panarjedde 15:14, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Most Goals in a Season
Does this figure refer to most league goals in a season or most goals in all competitions? We've already scored 78 goals this season. LeixlipRed 18:42, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Refers to league goals. I'll edit it. Well spotted. Link: http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=38&Itemid=52 RedsIndependent.com 23:18, 22 October 2006
[edit] Fastest Hat-trick
Someone changed this to 133 seconds but I think the original version using minutes and seconds which also mentionined the fact that the length of time is disputed was better. Anyone agree?
Ya minutes & secounds is better.
