Sherwood Park is the newest station to open on the Warrnambool railway line, being completed in 2005. It is situated out the front of the Deakin University's Warrnambool campus, and services the University, golf course and growing commercial and residential precinct growing at the eastern entrance of Warrnambool. Only one train in each direction per week stops at Sherwood Park, despite the Warrnambool line having 20 passenger trains in each direction each week.
