From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shepton Mallet F.C. are a football club based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England. They were established in 1986 after the liquidation of Shepton Mallet Town F.C. the same year. The old Shepton Mallet Town had spent 10 years in the Western Football League, six of which in the Premier Division. When the club went bust, Shepton Mallet F.C. took the place of the old club's reserves in the Somerset County League Division Two. By 1989, they rose to the Premier Division of the SCL and played there until winning the title in the 2000-01 season, when they were accepted into the Western League. In the 2004-05 season, they reached the 1st round of the FA Vase. For the 2006-07 season, they are members of the Western Football League Division One.
