Shenzhou 8 (Chinese: 神舟八号) will be an unmanned flight of the People's Republic of China's Shenzhou spacecraft program. Launched in 2010 it will be an eight tonnes "space laboratory module" with two docking ports. Less than one month later, an unmanned Shenzhou spacecraft, Shenzhou 9, will dock with the Shenzhou 8. Shenzhou 10 will be manned and carry a crew to the space station. At 8 tonnes, the module would be well within the known lifting capability of the Long March 2F rocket, and would not require the design and construction of a heavier lifter.
Latest news report Shenzhou 8 will dock with a non-Shenzhou target, not Shenzhou 9. [citation needed]
