Shenzhen University

Shenzhen University (SZU, 深圳大学,深大, or 深圳大學) is a university authorized and established in 1983 by Chinese State Council and the Shenzhen Government. SZU is a multi-discipline university which offers 42 undergraduate degree programs, 69 graduate programs (66 master programs and 3 doctoral programs) and mature student program in a large scale. The student population is large, with 14,000 undergraduates, 1300 graduates and 6,000 part-time matures students. 15 countries are represented by around 360 international students.
In 2005, the number of full-time students was expected to reach 15,000 as a result of Chinese government's policy to encourage university to accept more students.
SZU, like the city of Shenzhen where it is situated, is considered to be a reformer. It has taken the lead in China to adopt the credit system, offer scholarships and some other reforms.
